(Irving, TX) On Tuesday, the Big 12 Conference announced lacrosse weekly awards, and Sun Devil Lacrosse had a pair in Jordyn Behar and Anna Viglione receiving the nod. Both student-athletes picked up their second honors of the season after being named attacker and midfielder of the week, respectively.
Behar tied her career high in assists and points after her weekend consisted of two goals and six assists in the win over Furman. She continues to hold the NCAA lead in assists with 36 on the season, which is the third-best single-season mark in program history. 42 assists is the single-season record all-time, as Emily Glagolev hit this mark in 2022.
Weeks after setting a career-high 15 draw controls against Saint Joseph’s, Viglione broke her own record with 16 against Furman. She has led ASU to the second best team draw control mark in the NCAA, 18.33, and leads all individuals in the NCAA with 99 draw controls on the season.
Conference wise, Viglione owns the five highest individual draw control marks in a single game in the Big 12, and only three players have recorded double-digit draw controls in a game in the conference. Anna has six times.
ASU has been represented in every weekly award cycle this season, with these two marking the team’s sixth and seventh honors.
