(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s basketball team earned some regular season awards from the ACCAC Conference as three players earned recognition.
Freshman post player Kiley Sours-Miller was selected ACCAC Division II Player and Freshman of the Year as well as First Team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II. She led the ACCAC Division II Conference averaging 17.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and a 61.4 percent field goal percentage. She also averaged 1.1 steals per game and played in 28 games; making 24 starts. Sours-Miller also finished the regular season with 14 double-doubles in points and rebounds. She was a seven-time ACCAC Division II Player of the Week.
Sophomore forward Rori Hoffmeyer (Cibola HS) became a two-time All-ACCAC conference player as she was named to the First Team. She was selected to the Second Team as a freshman last season. Hoffmeyer was also selected Second Team All-Region I, Division II. She averaged 10.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists after playing in 28 games; making 27 starts. She shot 49 percent from the field and 65 percent from the free throw line.
Sophomore guard Mattanaya Vital (Amphitheater HS) was named Second Team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II. She averaged 8.0 points, 2.3 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals playing in 26 games; making 18 starts in the backcourt. Vital shot 36 percent from the field and 34 percent from three-point range.
The No. 2 seeded Aztecs (24-5) host No. 3 Scottsdale Community College (17-9) in the Region I, Division II Semifinal round on Thursday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
