(Tucson, AZ). The Pima Community College baseball team (30-8, 16-8 in ACCAC) picked up its 30th win of the season on Saturday as it earned a sweep on the road at Scottsdale Community College (19-14, 9-12).
Freshman Zach Plasschaert was productive at the plate as he finished 3 for 5 with five RBIs and two runs scored. Sophomore Caden Richards was 3 for 8 with three runs scored while freshman Jackson Glueck went 3 for 7 with two runs. Sophomore Collin Senior (Horizon HS) closed out the day 2 for 7 with two RBIs and two runs. Sophomores Tsubasa Tomii and Nate Gray (Queen Creek HS) earned the wins on the mound.

Game 1: (15) Pima Aztecs 6, Scottsdale Artichokes 5 (8 innings)
The Aztecs rallied from a four-run deficit with four runs in the 6th inning and one run in the 8th to get the win in extra innings.
With the game scoreless heading into the top of the 5th inning, Plasschaert hit a leadoff home run to center field.
The Artichokes scored five runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to take the lead.
The Aztecs produced a big inning in the top of the 6th. Senior hit an RBI single to score Richards. With two outs, Plasschaert drove an RBI double to the outfield to bring in sophomore Nolan Ganter (Pinnacle HS). Freshman Ramon Martinez capped off the four-run inning with a two-run RBI single to score Senior and Plasschaert to tie the game at 5-5.
Glueck led off the 8th inning with a single and was moved over to third base by freshman Sean Barta after an error. Plasschaert hit a sacrifice-fly RBI to center field to bring in Glueck.
Freshman Andres Castro (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) closed out the game as he put the Artichokes down in order in the bottom of the 8th. Tomii got the win as he pitched two and one-third innings, giving up one run (none earned) on four hits with four strikeouts in a relief appearance.

Game 2: (15) Pima Aztecs 8, Scottsdale Artichokes 4 (7 innings)
The Aztecs got off to a hot start on offense and held off a Scottsdale rally to secure the win and the sweep.
Ganter hit an RBI single to bring in freshman Leon Cereceres. Senior hit an RBI single to score Ganter as Pima had three straight RBI hits. Barta followed with an RBI double that scored Glueck and Plasschaert hit a shot to center field that brought in Senior and Barta as the Aztecs went up 5-0.
Pima went up 6-0 in the 2nd inning when Ganter hit a sacrifice-fly RBI to score Richards, who led off with a single.
Ganter came through again in the 4th inning when he hit a two-run home run to score Richards to make it 8-0.
The Artichokes scored four runs in the 6th inning.
Ganter closed out the game going 2 for 3 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Plasschaert went 1 for 2 with two RBIs. Cereceres finished 2 for 4 with a run and Richards was 2 for 4 with two runs. Senior and Barta each finished 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run.
Gray pitched five scoreless innings, giving up six hits with three strikeouts and one walk on 82 pitches.
The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus Aztec Field on Tuesday for an ACCAC conference doubleheader against Phoenix College. First game starts at noon.
