(Irving, TX) On Tuesday, the Big 12 Conference announced lacrosse weekly awards, and Sun Devil Lacrosse’s Anna Viglione earned her first career honor, Big 12 Midfielder of the Week after tallying 25 draw controls in two games last week.
Viglione had a career-high 15 draw controls against Saint Joseph’s on Saturday and led ASU to their season-best 20 draw controls mark in a single game, which has happened three times this season.
The midfielder is the only player in the Big 12 Conference to record 15 draw controls in a single game, and has the fourth-most draw controls per game by an individual in the NCAA (10.40). She also leads ASU to having the best draw control per game mark in the conference with over 17 per game as a team.
She is the fourth Sun Devil to earn weekly honors this season after Katie Vahle and Teagan Ng, and Bella Ingrao were all named for awards in their respective position categories.
