Series History

This will be the first meeting between the Sun Devils and Cornhuskers since 2008, which ended in a 64-44 Arizona State victory. ASU leads the all-time series 4-3 dating back to 1968. This will be the first matchup between the two sides at a neutral site.

Postseason Appearances

Arizona State is making its fourth postseason appearance under Head Coach Bobby Hurley, a total that would be five had COVID-19 not shut down the 2019-20 season. The Sun Devils have previously picked up NCAA Tournament wins over Nevada in 2023 and St. John’s in 2019 with Hurley at the helm.

Neutralizing the Opponent

Arizona State continued their success under Bobby Hurley at neutral sites. ASU picked up five neutral site wins during the regular season, which is a new program record. The Sun Devils have defeated four teams that won 20+ games in neutral settings already in 2024-25 (Saint Mary’s, Grand Canyon, Santa Clara, New Mexico). Three are 2025 NCAA Tournament participants. ASU has now won 18 games overall under Hurley in neutral games. That includes past wins over NC State, Kansas State, St. John’s, Mississippi State, Xavier, Michigan, Utah State, New Mexico, Saint Mary’s, Creighton, Santa Clara, and UMass.
