(Denver, CO) Two won event titles as No. 25 Sun Devil Gymnastics came up short at No. 18 Denver on Sunday afternoon in Magness Arena, 196.700 to 195.575.
Notable Stats
- Arizona State (7-7, 2-4 Big 12) fell to Denver (13-3, 4-2 Big 12). Though a step back in team score, ASU got back on track on bars by scoring a 49.125, improvement from last week and the lone event to surpass 49.000 today.
- Junior Kimberly Smith earned a career-high 9.925 on bars to tie for first on the event and win the title. This is her fourth score of 9.9 or better in her career, third of the season. That score was the best individual mark of the meet for the Gym Devils. This also was her second event title.
- Graduate Emily White had another solid outing in the all-around, scoring a 39.425. She earned a 9.900 on floor, a team best and her fourth-straight score of 9.9 or better, sixth overall this season. On beam, she scored a 9.875 to win the title, her 14th of the year.
- After making her season debuts on beam and floor, graduate Jada Mangahas made her return to the all-around for the first time since March 15, 2024, scoring a 38.350. She was originally slated to do three, but a lineup change gave her a chance on beam. Her best scores were on vault and floor, where she scored a 9.850.
- Back in the lineups for the first time this season, sophomore Halle Gregoire made her debut on vault and bars. In her collegiate debut on bars, she scored a 9.825. On vault, she earned a 9.775.
- A few additional career highs were matched in the meet. Freshman Tiara Platkin matched her personal best on bars with a 9.800. Junior Caroline Lichtman scored a 9.825 on vault to tie her career high.

Rotation One: Bars, 49.125
The first rotation was the best for the Gym Devils. The event was highlighted by a career-high 9.925 from Smith. That also would be ASU’s best individual score of the meet. The rotation started strong with Platkin matching her career high of 9.800. Going second, Gregoire made her collegiate bars debut with a 9.825. Later in the lineup, White brought in a 9.875.
Rotation Two: Vault, 48.950
After a 9.825 from Lichtman, which tied her personal best, the scoring stalled until Mangahas in the anchor spot scored a 9.850 after she fought to hold her landing. The remaining scores that counted were two 9.775s and a 9.725.
Rotation Three: Floor, 48.750
The floor lineup struggled to control the landings for the most part. Clark led off with a 9.800. Going fourth, Mangahas made her season debut, scoring a 9.850. To anchor the lineup, White earned a 9.900, her sixth score of 9.9 or better.
Rotation Four: Beam, 48.750
To wrap up the meet, the Gym Devils stumbled a bit. The team did not have to count the fall in the lineup, but the first 9.8 or better came from Clark in the five spot, scoring a 9.800. White closed out the lineup with a 9.875.

Arizona State will compete in two quad meets at Cal next weekend, first on March 14 and then two days later on March 16.
