(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College softball team (14-0, 10-0 in ACCAC) handed Scottsdale Community College (8-2, 4-2) its first two defeats of the season on Friday in an ACCAC conference doubleheader.
Sophomore Natalya Rivera (Sunnyside HS) finished the day 4 for 6 with six RBIs, five runs scored, three home runs and a double. Sophomore Alyssa Noriega (Pueblo HS) closed it out going 3 for 5 with an RBI and four runs scored. Sophomore Talia Martin (Mountain View HS) went 2 for 4 with two runs and four walks while sophomore Aubrey Marx (Cienega HS) was 2 for 7 with two RBIs and two runs. Freshmen Arianna Flores (Salpointe Catholic HS) and Sariah Ferrentino (Sabino HS) got the wins in the circle.
Game 1: (15) Pima Aztecs 5, Scottsdale Artichokes 0
Flores pitched a complete game and a no-hitter as she went seven innings with no runs (no earned runs) on no hits with 12 strikeouts and three walks on 108 pitches. She retired the final 15 batters she faced.
The Aztecs scored four runs in the 3rd inning. Marx hit an RBI double to drive in Martin, who led off the inning with a double. Rivera hit her first home run with a three-run shot bringing around Marx and Noriega to make it 4-0.
Rivera hit her second home run of the game with a solo shot to center field. She went 2 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Martin and Noriega each finished 1 for 2 with a run scored and two walks while Marx was 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Freshman Amerika Lopez-Bedoy (Sunnyside HS) was 2 for 3.

Game 2: (15) Pima CC Aztecs 10, Scottsdale CC Artichokes 2 (5 innings)
The Aztecs broke out the bats early in the 1st inning and helped secure the run-rule win with four more in the 5th inning frame.
Marx, Noriega and Julissa Lopez (Tucson Magnet HS) each had RBI doubles in the 1st inning and sophomore Cheyanne Ortiz (Tucson Magnet HS) capped it off with an RBI single to score Rivera as Pima took a 4-0 lead.
The Aztecs tacked on two runs in the 3rd inning as Noriega scored on an error and Lopez hit a sacrifice-fly RBI to plate Rivera and make it 6-2.
The Aztecs sent three home runs over the fence in the 5th inning as Rivera knocked her third home run out with a two-run shot to make it 8-2. Lopez followed with a solo homer over the center field fence. Freshman Clarissa Figueroa (Mountain View HS) hit one out two batters later to cap it off.
Rivera finished the game 2 for 2 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Lopez also went 2 for 2 with three RBIs and a run. Noriega was 2 for 3 with an RBI and three runs. Martin closed it out going 1 for 2 with a run and two walks while Marx and Figueroa each finished 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Ferrentino pitched a five-inning complete game, giving up two runs (two earned) on two hits with two strikeouts and two walks on 65 pitches. After the 1st inning, she gave up just one hit and retired the final 10 batters she faced.
