(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (18-5, 10-3) got back in the win column on Saturday against Phoenix College (11-13, 5-8).

The No. 9 ranked Aztecs broke away in the third quarter as they beat the Bears 77-49 snapping their two-game skid.

The Aztecs led 32-22 at halftime but opened their lead up even more as they outscored Phoenix College 26-6 in the third quarter to go up 58-28. This would be Pima’s biggest lead of the game.

Freshman Kiley Sours-Miller scored a game-high 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds as she shot 7 for 13 from the field.

Freshman Melicia Nelson (Window Rock HS) flirted with a triple double but finished the game with seven points on 3 for 4 shooting to go with 13 rebounds and eight assists.

Freshman Kennedi Niemann finished with nine points and five rebounds while sophomore Mattanaya Vital (Amphitheater HS) and Katie Burns (Catalina Foothills HS) each posted eight points.
