(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College softball pitcher Arianna Flores (Salpointe Catholic HS) produced a strong performance in the circle during the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1
Flores, a freshman pitcher, was selected ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the second straight week. She earned the award for the week of Jan. 19-25.
Flores pitched a complete game in Pima’s 3-1 win at Mesa Community College in the first game. She threw all seven innings, giving up one run (one earned) on one hit with 12 strikeouts and three walks. Flores lost a no-hit bid in the top of the 7th after giving up a lead-off home run but closed the door with three straight outs.
She was 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA in four appearances coming into the week. She had given up six earned runs and had 28 strikeouts in 16.1 innings pitched.
The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Field on Saturday when they host Paradise Valley Community College. First game starts at noon.
