(Gilbert, AZ)  Park University Gilbert volleyball player Mallory Turner was selected to the Great Southwest Conference all-Conference team today in a vote by coaches within the conference. This is the second all-Conference nod for Turner as she was named to the California Pacific all-Conference team a year ago.

The middle blocker blossomed into the top player for the Buccaneers in 2024 leading the Buccaneers in kills (183) and hitting percentage (.350) and was second on the team in attacks (369) and all block categories: solo (8), assists (42) and total blocks (50).

This season, the Sutherin, Ore., native moved into the fourth place on the Bucs all-time kills, attack and total points list. She also moved into second place all-time on the block solo, block assist and total blocks list.

This season, Turner became the first middle blocker in Park Gilbert history to lead the team in kills and attacks in a season, an honor usually relegated to outside hitters. In the Bucs six year history, two seasons have seen a middle blocker (Turner) and a right side hitter (Miranda Bacon) have led the team in kills.

Turner, who also is a high jumper on the Park Gilbert track and field team, will return in 2025 with an opportunity with another great season to put herself in the annals as one of the best players in school history.
