Four Aztecs Women’s Soccer players named All-ACCAC/Region

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College women’s soccer team was represented in the All-Arizona Community College Athletic Conference and Region I, Division II teams.

Sophomore defender Ariela Sanchez-Hermosillo (Sahuaro HS) was named first team All-ACCAC/Region I. She helped anchor a defense that produced eight shutout victories during the season and allow just 12 goals; nine in the regular season. Sanchez-Hermosillo played and started in all 16 games in the backfield with one goal and two assists.

Sophomore forward Lizzie Walker (Canyon del Oro HS) was selected first team All-ACCAC/Region I. She led the Aztecs with 14 goals and a total of 30 points as she played in 15 games; making 11 starts. Walker also had two assists during the season.

Sophomore midfielder Solaris Graves (Ironwood Ridge HS) was also named first team All-ACCAC/Region I as she became a two-time All-ACCAC/Region I player. She was selected to the second team in 2023. Graves played in 15 games; making 14 starts this season as she scored four goals and had two assists with 10 points.

Freshman defender Kamalani Peralta (Tucson Magnet HS) earned second team All-ACCAC/Region I honors. She played in 13 games; making 12 starts as she finished with one goal and two assists. She helped the back line earn four straight shutout wins in two different stretches during the season.

The Aztecs finished with an 11-3 record in ACCAC conference play, which was the most since 2017.

The Aztecs are 12-4 overall after they fell 2-1 in the Region I, Division II Finals at Phoenix College. They await to see if they will get an at-large bid into the NJCAA Division II National Tournament from Nov. 17-23 in Huntsville, AL. The tournament bracket will be released by the NJCAA on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m.
