Bucs Shatter Multiple School Records In 111-58 Win

(MESA, AZ)  The Park University Gilbert men’s basketball team (2-3, 0-0) defeated the West Coast Baptist College Eagles (0-2, 0-0) in a dominating 111-58 fashion, Tuesday afternoon at Arizona Athletic Grounds.

The Buccaneers shattered multiple single-game school records in their regular season home opener, as their offensive efficiency won the day.

The Bucs scored 111 points on the day, breaking their previous record of 101 points scored in 2022. Their 53-point win Tuesday afternoon reset the record for largest winning margin, previously at 46 points which was set in December 2019 against Cal Miramar.

Park-Gilbert also broke the single-game school records today for most made FGs with 45 (previously 40), most three pointers made with 16 (previously 14), most assists with 32 (previously 25), and the most points scored in one half with 59 (previously 58).

Sophomore guard Tanner Pate led the scoring charge with 27 points, shooting 58.8% from the field nailing seven three pointers. His seven makes from beyond the arc ended up being two shy of a single game school record for most three-pointers made.

Senior forward Aidan Moreno nearly recorded a triple-double with 12 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Moreno led the Buccaneers in rebounds and assists for the day.

Senior guard Marquis Mckinzy scored an efficient 15 points, shooting 6-10 from the field and 3-7 from three-point land.

Park-Gilbert returns to the floor this Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:00 p.m. MST, when they defend home turf against the Northern New Mexico College Eagles (1-9, 0-0) at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Arizona.
