(Salt Lake City, UT) The Park University Gilbert men’s basketball team (2-5, 0-0) fell to the Westminster University Griffins (5-3, 0-0) by a score of 67-60, Friday evening at Behnken Field House in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The first stint of a back-to-back for these teams, and first ever meeting between these two programs, resulted in a close loss for the Buccaneers despite their nine made three-pointers, shooting 56.3% from beyond the arc on the night.
Senior guard Mahlik Lindsey led the Bucs on their efficient night from three-point land. He dropped 17 points off the bench, and made four-of-five triples in his 18 minutes played. Lindsey led the team in scoring against the Griffins tonight.
Junior forward Caleb Geisendorfer notched his second double-double of the season, scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
Although the Bucs played the Griffins tight and took a one-point lead into the halftime break, Park-Gilbert never held a lead at any point in the second half.
The Buccaneers look to bounce back against Westminster University tomorrow, Nov. 30 at 6:00 p.m. MST, in the second half of this week’s back-to-back at Behnken Field House.
