(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s soccer player Ariela Sanchez-Hermosillo (Sahuaro HS) did work on both sides of the ball as she earned recognition from the ACCAC conference for the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5.
Sanchez-Hermosillo, a sophomore defender was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week.
She helped the Aztecs on defense, securing shutout victories over Chandler-Gilbert and Paradise Valley Community College by a combined score of 11-0. Sanchez-Hermosillo did work on offense as well as she posted two assists in Pima’s win at Paradise Valley.
She has played and started in all 11 games so far this season and has helped the Aztecs earn seven shutout wins (including three straight with their 6-0 over Mesa Community College on Tuesday).
The Aztecs will host GateWay Community College on Saturday at the West Campus Aztec Field. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. but they will honor their 13 sophomores before the game.
