(Cincinnati, OH) The Arizona State football squad (5-2; 2-2) jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but Cincinnati (5-2; 3-1) grabbed the momentum after an early turnover and held off the Sun Devils in a 24-14 Bearcat win at Nippert Stadium Saturday afternoon.
ASU went 66 yards on six plays on its first possession to grab the early lead on a Cam Skattebotwo-yard run and had early momentum after a Keith Abney interception, but the Bearcats capitalized on an ASU turnover deep in Sun Devil territory and then scored on four of its next five possessions to take a 24-7 halftime lead.

After an explosive first half, the Sun Devil defense held the Bearcats in check for the remainder of the game. In just three second-half possessions, the Bearcats punted twice and turned it over on downs once.
The Sun Devils closed it to 24-14 on their first possession of the second half with an eight-play, 74-yard drive that ended with Cam Skattebo’s second touchdown of the day. Skattebo finished with 75 yards on 17 carries, plus 33 receiving yards.
