(MESA, AZ) The Park University Gilbert women’s soccer team (2-8-3, 1-5-3) lost 1-0 at home to The Master’s University (7-4-2, 7-0-2), Thursday night at Arizona Athletic Grounds.
Despite a full match of solid play from the Buccaneers, against a Mustangs team sitting third in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference standings, an own goal in the 58th minute sealed their fate for the evening.
Park-Gilbert’s offense controlled plenty of possession and took nine shots on the Mustangs’ defense, four of which were shots on goal. The Mustangs took 12 shots with five on goal.
Bucs goalkeeper, junior Morgan Trail, recorded four saves on the night.
The Buccaneers women’s soccer team quickly prepares for No. 15 ranked Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (8-2-3, 7-1-1), when they take on the Golden Eagles this Saturday, Oct. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Varsity Field in Prescott, Arizona.
