(Santa Clarita, CA) The Park University Gilbert men’s soccer team (4-3-3, 2-1-3) lost on the road to The Master’s University (4-4-2, 4-0-2) Saturday afternoon at Reese Field in Santa Clarita.
This contest against the current leader in the Great Southwest American Conference standings ended with a 3-0 loss for the Buccaneers.
Mustangs midfielder Trent Rickard got The Master’s on the scoreboard in the 12th minute off a free kick, converting their only shot on goal in the first half. He then scored again in the 52nd minute, with forward Alexis Garcia assisting on the play.
The Bucs totaled three shots on offense, with one shot on goal for the day from sophomore defenseman Viktor Gylling in the 36th minute.
The Park-Gilbert men’s soccer team returns to play Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8:00 p.m. MST, against Benedictine University Mesa (3-4-1, 2-1-1) on the road at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Mesa, Ariz.
