Aztecs Men’s Cross Country opens season at George Kyte Invitational

(Flagstaff, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s cross country team opened the 2024 season on Saturday at the George Kyte Invitational held at Buffalo Park in Flagstaff, AZ.

The Aztecs finished fourth in the 4.5-mile run open with a total of 99 points. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University placed first with 20 points. Coconino Community College and Phoenix College were the other ACCAC conference schools to compete in the race. The Comets took third with 98 points and the Bears went sixth with 150 points.

Freshman Noah Brunet (Ironwood Ridge HS) was the top Pima finisher as he placed ninth with a time of 24:23.3.

Sophomore Evan Rasoumoff (Catalina Foothills HS) was 20th and crossed the finish line at 25:39.9. Fellow sophomore Zack Comaduran (Marana HS) took 22nd at 26:07.8.

Sophomore Louis Madrigal-Diaz (North Canyon HS) finished 23rd with a time of 26:16.7 and freshman Marco Hernandez (Buena HS) was 25th at 27:59.5.

The Aztecs will compete in the Firestorm Classic on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Historic Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale. First race is at 7:30 a.m.
