(Aliso Viejo, CA)  The Great Southwest Athletic Conference’s men’s soccer preseason poll, voted by the eight men’s soccer head coaches, projects a sixth place finish for Park Gilbert this upcoming season.

Each coach voted on how the standings would look by season’s end, ranking every team (excluding their own) in a 1-7 format. Each time a coach ranks a school #1 they receive 7 points, six points for second place and so on.

Park Gilbert has won at least six games in each of the last three seasons, and it will be returning plenty of offensive talent to the fold in 2024.

Forwards Ashton Owen and Ilan Rodriguez-Roda both led the team in scoring in last year with seven goals. Returning forwards Konstantin Papanikolaou and Konstantinos Hinteregger are poised to take on big roles for the Bucs this season as well.

The Buccaneers finished their final season in the California Pacific Conference with a 6-4-9 record, playing the rest of the conference at a 5-4-3. Additionally, Park Gilbert clinched their first Cal Pac postseason berth in school history.

With this being the program’s inaugural season in the GSAC, a wide variety of both opportunity and adversity will present itself to head coach Jonas Tanzer and his squad in 2024.

According to the preseason poll, Hope International and The Master’s are this year’s favorites to win the GSAC. The full results of the poll are listed below:

  1. Hope International – 46 points
  2. The Master’s – 43 points
  3. Embery-Riddle 35 points
  4. OUAZ – 31 points
