(Springfield, MA) Sun Devil Men’s Basketball will participate in the Hall of Fame Classic on Dec. 21 when they take on UMass in Springfield.
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced the field of teams for the 2024 Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, highlighted by Arizona State University. The Basketball Hall of Fame Classic will take place on Saturday, December 21 at the MassMutual Center. Details surrounding the game time and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
“Arizona State is honored to play in the 2024 Basketball Hall of Fame Classic,” Sun Devil Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bobby Hurley remarked. “We are excited to be featured in one of the premiere events in college basketball. Our staff is always looking for ways to challenge our team in the non-conference and competing in this tournament is a perfect way to do that. This trip will not only be a tremendous opportunity to educate our players about the history of the game, it will also present a chance for us to bond and become closer as a unit. We thank the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame for the invitation.”
HALL OF FAME CLASSIC SCHEDULE
The 2024 Basketball Hall of Fame Classic will feature four teams that will take part in a doubleheader on Saturday, Dec. 21. Arizona State will face UMass and will also be joined by Rhode Island and Temple at the event.

ACRISURE CLASSIC (11/28-11/29)
The Acrisure Classic is a part of the Acrisure Series – the country’s largest MTE (multi-team event) series – which will be held at the new 11,000-seat Acrisure Arena. The event will feature four prominent programs in the west, as Arizona State will take on New Mexico at 9:30 PM MST on Thursday, Nov. 28 following a matchup between USC and St. Mary’s at 7 PM MST earlier in the evening. On Thanksgiving Day, Arizona State and New Mexico will meet for the 86th time, with this representing the first matchup since 2012. The Sun Devils and Lobos make up one semifinal being played on Thursday, Nov. 28th. The other part of the bracket features USC and St. Mary’s in part two of the semifinals. The winner of Thursday’s games will meet in the Acrisure Classic Championship Game on Friday, Nov. 29 at 9:30 PM MST. All four teams are guaranteed two games in Palm Springsf, with the loser of Thursday’s contests competing at 7 PM on Friday, Nov. 29 in the Acrisure Classic third place game.

HALL OF FAME SERIES (11/14)
Earlier in the offseason, The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced that Arizona State Basketball will be competing in the Hall of Fame Series – Phoenix for the second consecutive year. On Thursday, Nov. 14, Sun Devil Men’s Basketball take on Grand Canyon at Footprint Center as the second part of a doubleheader. The first part will feature the Sun Devils’ and Lopes’ women’s programs. Tickets are now on sale and available for purchase at the following link.
