(West Monroe, LA) The Pima Community College men’s track & field team closed out the first day of competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Thursday.
The Aztecs are tied for 14th place in team standings with two points as four of the 22 events were scored.
Freshman Nasir Tucker took seventh place in the Long Jump with a mark of 7.28 meters (23-feet, 10.75-inches) on his fifth attempt. His season-best was 7.59 meters (24-11) when he captured the region title at the Region I Championships earlier this month.
Other Pima finishes at the NJCAA Division I Championships:
Louis Madrigal-Diaz (North Canyon HS), Caelan Pando, Evan Rasoumoff (Catalina Foothills HS), Wyatt Preble (Salpointe Catholic HS) – 14th in 4×800 relay 8:03.94.
The Aztecs continue competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Friday at Brown Stadium in West Monroe, LA.
