(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College softball player Kayla Miranda (Tucson Magnet HS) put her stamp on the doubleheader last Saturday against Phoenix College and was rewarded for her efforts by the ACCAC conference.
Miranda, a sophomore infielder, was named ACCAC Division I Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 25-Mar. 2.
She went 4 for 6 with six RBIs, four runs scored, three home runs and three walks last Saturday but the Aztecs dropped both games of their doubleheader to the Bears.
She is batting .276 in 29 at-bats with three homers, nine RBIs, seven runs scored and seven walks in 11 games played so far this season.
The Aztecs play a doubleheader as part of the TIG Invitational on today at Lincoln Park against St. John’s Fisher University at 1:30 p.m. and Miles Community College at 3:30 p.m. They get back to ACCAC conference play on Tuesday at Glendale Community College in a doubleheader. First game starts at 12:00 p.m.
