(Goodyear, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s golf team competed in its third tournament of the season on Friday and Saturday.
The Aztecs had their best team placement of the season as they took third with a two-day total of 613 (303-310).
Freshman Caysen Wright finished in third place in the final individual standings. He shot a 1-over par 72 in his first round of play and closed out the final round with a 3-over par 74.
Freshman Colton Boone (Douglas HS) finished out the tournament with a 153 (76-77) while sophomore Luis Lopez (Sahuarita HS) improved his score by 2-strokes between rounds with a 154 (78-76).Freshman Jens Benedict (Catalina Foothills HS) had a 160 as he shot a 77 on the first day of play but struggled in the final round with an 83.
The Aztecs will compete in the South Mountain CC Invitational on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 2-3 at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen Village, AZ. Teams begin to tee off around 12:00 p.m.
