(Coolidge, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s track & field team competed at the CAC Indoor Invitational on Saturday in Coolidge, AZ.
The No. 11 ranked Aztecs now have 10 Indoor national qualifying marks after three meets.
Sophomore Annika Arvayo (Salpointe Catholic HS) took first place in the Weight Throw and set an NJCAA Indoor national qualifying mark of 14.99 meters (49-feet, 2.25-inches) on her fifth attempt. Her feat landed her No. 3 in Pima Indoor school history and marked the best throw since 2001.
Freshman Reatta Danhof (Ironwood ridge HS) took second place in the 800-meter race with a time of 2 minutes, 26.27 seconds. She is now listed at No. 2 in Pima Indoor school history, and it was the fastest time since 2003. She is slightly over four seconds off from the national qualifying standard of 2:22.56.
The Aztecs will compete at the GCC Indoor Invitational on Saturday at Glendale Community College.
