(St. PAUL, MN) Arizona State ice hockey seniors Tim Lovell and Lukas Sillinger are nominated for the 2024 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, announced by the organization on Friday morning. Fan voting is open immediately and continues through March 10.
Awarded annually to college hockey’s top player, the Hobey Baker’s tremendously popular fan-voting will run from Friday, January 26 until Sunday, March 10 at midnight. Sillinger and Lovell are in the top-10 of several statistically categories nationally and are neck-and-neck for the team lead in points.

TIM LOVELL’S RESUME (5G, 23A)
- Ranks fourth in point scoring among all NCAA defensemen
- Ranks third in assists among all NCAA defensemen
- His five goals and 23 assists for 28 total points ranks second on the Arizona State point scoring sheet
- His +6 ranks fourth among all ASU skaters, second among defensemen
- Has tallied at least one point in 19 of ASU’s 28 games for a 1.08 points per game average
- Leads the team average for time on ice with 23:53 minutes
- From Nov. 10-Nov. 26, 2023, Lovell went on a six-game point scoring streak including nine points against then-No. 2 Denver and then-No. 9 Providence. The six game streak is tied for the third-longest point scoring streak in program history
- His 28 points so far this season ranks fourth in ASU single season point scoring by defensemen
- With 23 assists through 26 games in 2023-24, Lovell tied the ASU single season record for assists by a defenseman
- His five goals this season ranks sixth in single season goal scoring by ASU defensemen
- Enjoying the best statistical season of his collegiate career, outpacing all other seasons in goals, assists, points, plus/minus, power play goals, and shot percentage
ASU Program record watch: Lovell is currently tied for the most assists by a defenseman in a single season set by Brinson Pasichnuk in 2019-20. He is also three points away from setting a new program record for points by a defenseman also set by Pasichnuk in 2019-20 at 30 pts.
LUKAS SILLINGER’S RESUME (6G, 24A)
- Leading the nation: No. 4 in assists (24), tied-No. 14 in total points (30), No. 2 in points among NCAA senior class (30), tied-No. 16 for assists per game (.86)
- Leads the Arizona State team in points with 30 (6G, 24A)
- Boasts the second-most minutes for time on ice among ASU forwards with 18:31 per night through 28 games played
- Leads the team in three-plus point games with three. ASU is 3-0-0 when Sillinger records at least three points in a single game.
- Tied for the team lead in multipoint games with six. ASU is 4-1-1 when Sillinger records at least a two point night
- Became only the second ASU player in history to tally five points in a game. The last, and only, time the feat was accomplished by an ASU skater was in 2016 by Anthony Croston. Sillinger scored one goal and notched four assists at Robert Morris on Dec. 17, 2023. Both the four assists and five total points from that game are new career single game highs for the senior
- Went on a five game assist streak, including eight assists, from Nov. 10-Nov. 24, 2023 (versus then-No. 2 Denver, Alaska Anchorage, and then-No. 9 Providence)
- Assisted on five game-winning goals for ASU, including the overtime winner vs. Omaha to secure ASU’s 10th straight undefeated game
- Reached 100 career points on Dec. 17, 2023 – he is one of only 10 active NCAA skaters with over 100 career points
