(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer program received more accolades from the 2023 season.
Freshmen D’Andre Pickett (Tucson Magnet HS) and Brandon Sanchez (Canyon del Oro HS) were both selected to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division II Men’s All-American Team.
Pickett, a defender, was named First Team NJCAA Division II All-American, along with being a First Team All-ACCAC and First Team All-Region I, Division II player. He was also selected to the NJCAA Division II National All-Tournament team. He played and started in 16 of the 17 games this season helping the backfield secure eight shutout victories.
Sanchez, a midfielder, earned Second Team All-ACCAC and First Team All-Region I, Division II recognition. He played in all 17 games; making 16 starts as he scored seven goals and had four assists for 18 points.
The Aztecs finished the season at 13-3-1 overall and 9-2 in ACCAC conference play. Pickett and Sanchez, who served as team captains, will be recognized at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. The ceremony is part of the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
