(Sierra Vista) The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (6-4-2, 5-2-2 in ACCAC) picked up a crucial ACCAC conference road victory on Saturday at Cochise College (5-5-2, 3-4-2).
Leading 2-1 at halftime, the Aztecs tacked on three goals in the second half to beat the Apaches (Division I) 5-2 in Douglas.
Freshman Lizzie Walker (Canyon del Oro HS) scored two goals in the game. She put the Aztecs on the board in the 15th minute. She netted her second goal in the 65th minute to give the Aztecs a 3-1 advantage.
Sophomore Kyleigh Oliver (Salpointe Catholic HS) made it 2-0 with her goal in the 21stminute with an assist from fellow sophomore Sydney Yebra (Tucson Magnet HS). Oliver also had two assists in the game; the first came on Walker’s second goal and on freshman Solaris Graves’ (Ironwood Ridge HS) goal in the 75th minute to make it 4-1.
Freshman Camila Razcon (Marana HS) helped seal it for the Aztecs with her goal in the 83rd minute with an assist from freshman Viviana Sanchez (Tucson Magnet HS).
Julia Giuriatti and Sabrina Amezcua scored the goals for the Apaches in the 29thminute and the 88th minute respectively.
Sophomore Adriana Pacheco (Cienega HS) finished the game with six saves.
The Aztecs are 5-0-2 in their last seven games.
The Aztecs are back at the West Campus Aztec Field on Tuesday when they host Arizona Western College. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
