(Gilbert, AZ) Park University Gilbert baseball players Alex Elizondo, Cole Sneed and Zachary Fogle have all been recognized by the NAIA as national scholar athletes. The award is given to outstanding student-athletes who have maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher and have been at their institutions longer than one season.
Elizondo, who graduated this year, posted a 4.0 GPA with the Buccaneers majoring in Fitness and Wellness. He made the Dean’s List four times as well as being named Summa Cum Laude. He also earned a minor in Psychology and Social Psychology. On the field, Elizondo played in 19 games as a catcher hitting .255 with two doubles.
Sneed, who also graduated this year, had a 4.0 GPA in Information Systems and Business Analytics. A Scottsdale, Ariz., native, Sneed made the Dean’s List twice. He played in nine games as a backup catcher with a .429 on-base percentage.
Fogle, who just completed his junior season, had a 4.0 GPA in Psychology and has made the Dean’s List twice. Fogle made eight appearances all in relief and threw 16 innings with an 0-1 record with only 4 walks and nine strikeouts.
These three players join 150 other athletes who also received this national award from the NAIA.
