(Tempe, AZ) Sun Devil Volleyball has signed a 6-0 setter in Brynn Covell, a transfer freshman who spent her spring at Texas A&M.
“Adding Brynn Covell to our volleyball team not only brings a talented athlete, but also a dedicated and admirable individual who embodies the values of hard work and teamwork,” head coach JJ Van Niel said. “With her supportive family and positive attitude, Brynn is sure to enhance our team culture and contribute to our success both on and off the court.”
Covell is from Raleigh, North Carolina, where she played at the NC Volleyball Academy. She graduated early to start at Texas A&M this past spring. This fall in Tempe will be her first season.
Coming out of high school, Covell had many accolades. She was ranked 97th nationally in the class of 2023 by Prep Volleyball and made the 2023 Junior Volleyball Association All-National Team. Additionally, she was named to the AVCA All-American Watch List and was listed as the Mid-East Qualifiers Dig Dream Team Setter.
Van Niel and his staff continue to build the 2023 roster. Covell joins transfer libero Mary Schroll as recent signees.
