(Mesa, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s track & field team closed out competition at the NJCAA Region I Championships on Thursday in Mesa.
The Aztecs finished in third place with a score of 125 points. Mesa Community College placed first with 247 and Central Arizona College took second place with 240 points. The Aztecs beat out Paradise Valley Community College (67), Glendale Community College (61) and Phoenix College (3).
Freshman Taylynd Stuhr (Buckeye Union HS) tied for second place in the High Jump with a mark of 1.47 meters (4-feet, 9.75-inches).
Freshman Brooke Peterson (Mingus HS) captured the Region I championship in the Pole Vault and sophomore Jessica Bright-Schade (Safford HS) took first place in the Javelin on Tuesday.

Tianna Moseley – 3rd in Triple Jump 11.24 meters (36-10.50) (6 points); 8th in 100 hurdles 16.08 (1 point)
Trinity Bethea – 4th in 400 meters 58.41 (5 points); 5th in 200 meters 25.51 (4 points).
Kapualani Magnani – 5th in Shot Put 10.53 meters (34-6.75) (4 points); 7th in Discus 32.10 meters (105-3).
Psalm Johnson – T-5th in High Jump 1.37 meters (4-6) (3 points); 5th in Triple Jump 10.70 meters (35-1.25) (4 points).
Julia Lundberg – 5th in 1,500 5:10.90 (4 points); 6th in 800 meters 2:37.19 (3 points); 6thin 5,000 meters 21:48.56 (3 points)
Annika Arvayo (Salpointe Catholic HS) – 6th in Shot Put 10.41 meters (34-2) (3 points)
Maddie Warren – 6th in 400 meters 1:02.89 (3 points)

The NJCAA Division I National Tournament will be in Hobbs, NM from May 18-20.
