Katie Brodsky wrapped around behind the goal to find Berit Brookfield in a sprint, wide open where she capitalized to give the Sun Devils their second goal. In the first thirty seconds of the second quarter, Teagan Ng scored on her free position opportunity to make it 6-3. Tate Stokesberry tallied the fourth off a negative angle. In a give-n-go with Stokesberry, Greta Stahl without hesitation found the back of the net. With less than three minutes remaining in the first half, Stokesberry popped her second goal of the night to bring the Sun Devils within four goals.
Goal thirsty, Stokesberry knocked in her third that rolled past the Aztec goaltender. In the woman-up advantage Brodsky found Buckner in open space who finished her 31st goal of the season. In the last 15 seconds of the third quarter, Mina Scott connected with Annie Haley for a goal to continue the offensive push. Less than six remaining in the game, Stokesberry rushed in herself and with a right-handed side arm rip, she put the Sun Devils at double digits. With 2:34 left, Greta Stahl scored in her free position opportunity for back-to-back goals for the Sun Devils putting themselves within four. Stahl followed up with a quick third goal for the Devils, assisted by Scott. The three goal fourth quarter wouldn’t be enough for ASU as they fell 15-12.
