(Tempe, CA)  Despite a five goal third quarter comeback attempt, Sun Devil Lacrosse (3-7, 2-3 Pac-12) dropped its first game of the weekend on Friday night to Stanford (7-5 5-1 Pac-12). It was the seventh game this season that Arizona State reached double digits, with the second-highest shooting percentage of the season at 57.8.

“It is about belief and trusting each other, we talked about one play at a time,” head coach Taryn VanThof said. “One goal won’t turn into three. It’s one draw control, one ground ball, one offensive opportunity at a time and they really bought into that for the third quarter. “

Teagan Ng led the way for the Sun Devils, matching her single game career high with a hat trick. Lydia Oldknow, Kaylon Buckner, Katie Brodsky and Mina Scott each contributed to the scoring column with two a piece in the 22-11 loss.

Up next the Sun Devils return to Sun Devil Lacrosse Stadium to host California on Sunday, April 9 at noon featured on Pac-12 Arizona. Sunday’s match will highlight Sun Devil lacrosse alumnae and Salute to Service.
