ASU Record Updates
Grace Campbell – tied No. 3 all-time, first top-3 update since 1998, PR’d every meet this year
4×4 No. 9 all-time
Tina Warren No. 2 all-time (legal wind)
Warren and Campbell were the talk of the day Saturday. Warren entered the meet with a season-best 12.69m/41-7.75 from the first meet of the year but improved on that three times Saturday en route to finishing fourth overall with her 12.95m/42-6.00. It was the second time Warren has hit 12.95m in her collegiate career, but this time it was wind legal and officially put her No. 2 in ASU’s record books, No. 17 in the West Region, No. 34 in the country.
Campbell entered the meet looking to improve her lifetime best 1.81m/5-11.25. It didn’t take long to do, as she hit four consecutive heights on the first attempt, including 1.83m/6.00. She couldn’t eclipse 1.86m, but her 1.83m marked the fourth consecutive meet she registered a new personal record, moved her to No. 3 in ASU’s books, put her No. 6 in the West Region, and made her No. 9 in the NCAA.
The Sun Devils are peaking at the right time. ASU has one more regular-season meet coming up before the Pac-12 Championships – Arizona’s Desert Heat Classic Saturday, April 29.
