(Gilbert, AZ) Park University Gilbert ice hockey head coach Jeff Zimmel has announced the signing of goaltender Blaise Becker to a letter of intent to study and play for the Buccaneers. This is the second announced signing in Zimmel’s first recruiting class.
“We are excited to get a goalie of Blaise’s caliber to sign with us in this first class,” said Zimmel. “He gives us a strong foundation between the pipes and is also a quality student and person.”
Becker will graduate from Hempfield Area High School in Greensburg, Pa., a suburb of Pittsburgh in June. Becker played one season of varsity hockey for the Spartans where he helped to lead the team to a berth in the AA PIHL “Penguins Cup” Playoffs. Becker played in 18 games with an .829 save percentage and made 262 saves/.
Becker plans to major in Philosophy or Psychology at Park Gilbert.
