(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s golfer Maria Harrouch closed out the regular season producing some strong rounds on the course and the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference took notice.
Harrouch, a sophomore, was selected ACCAC/Region I Golfer of the Year and became a two-time first team All-ACCAC and All-Region player.
Harrouch went on to win five straight individual titles. She tied for fourth place in the hosted Pima Invitational to open the season.
She averaged a score of 73.3 per round and shot her best collective rounds to close out the regular season at the South Mountain CC Invitational on Mar. 29-30 when she finished with a 7-under par 137 (69-68).
Sophomore Angelica Martinez (Tucson Magnet HS) was named second team All-ACCAC and All-Region for the second straight season.
Martinez tied for first place at the Pima Invitational to open the season with a season-best total of 153 (77-76). She finished in the top 10 in four of the remaining five tournaments and averaged a score of 81 per round.
The Aztecs will compete in the Southwest District Championships on April 17-19 at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Sun City West.
