(San Francisco, CA) Sun Devil Lacrosse earned a Pac-12 Player of the Week honor for the first time this season, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Graduate captain Kaylon Buckner was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career, and this is her second Pac-12 Player of the Week honor of her career after being named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week in her freshman season back in 2019. This is first year head coach Taryn VanThof’s first weekly award with the Sun Devils.
“Buck has the ability to find the back of the net,” VanThof said. “She has stepped up into an attacking role for us this season and has excelled. I am excited to see her continuous development and production through season.”
Last season, the program had six conference honors and had back-to-back weeks of sweeping weekly conference awards. In addition to Pac-12 weekly awards, there were two National Player of the Week honors as well.
