(Tucson, AZ) The Park University Gilbert men’s and women’s track teams finished competing at the Willie Williams Classic today. The Buccaneers had nine men and nine women competing in this prestigious meet which feature some of the best athletes in the country.
There was only one field event for the Buccaneers today as Nicholas Fey threw 30- 11 ¾ feet in the shot put.
On the track, Nardia Padilla ran 1:02.74 in the 400-meters, while Maryan Sharif (2:28.07) and Madison Turner (2:33.62) competed in the 800-meters. For the men in the 800, Manuel Najera ran a 1:58.97 and Trevor Snedeker posted a time of 2:02.62.
In the 100-meters, Zhanna Edwards ran 12.77, Jordyn Espinoza 13.10 and Johann Jessop 14.40. On the men’s side, Dylan Hukill posted an 11.09 in the 100-meters, while Bridger Mageath ran 11.24 and Isaac Young 12.08.
The Buccaneers will take a week off before travelling to participate in the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in Claremont, Calif.
