(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College men’s soccer players Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS) and Ernesto Osornio (Ironwood HS) left their marks on the 2022 season and earned national recognition for their efforts.
Bianchi, a sophomore forward, was selected second team NJCAA Division II All-American. He played and started in all 17 games this season and had a team-high 16 goals and nine assists. He also scored three eventual game-winners.
Bianchi earned first team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II honors in his lone season with the Aztecs.
Osornio, a sophomore midfielder/forward, was also named second team NJCAA Division II All-American. He played in 16 games and made 14 starts on the pitch. Osornio was second on the team finishing with nine goals, eight assists and 27 points.
He also earned first team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II in his only season with Pima.
The Aztecs men’s soccer program has produced 18 NJCAA All-Americans in the last 16 years. Some of their previous NJCAA All-Americans include: Sam Lossou (2021, 2020-21), Brian Vu (2021), Seungeon Kim (2020-21), Ricky Gordillo (2019), Hugo Kametani (National Player of the Year) (2018), Kaskile Zawadi (2018), AJ Valenzuela (2017), Hector Banegas (2016), Jason Romero (2015), Arturo Vega (2014), Alexis Medina (2013), Eric Glad (2011), Minh Vu (2010, 2009) and Fernando Gauna (2007).
The Aztecs finished the season at 10-4-3 overall after appearing in their sixth straight trip to the NJCAA National Tournament. They have made the tournament in eight of the last nine years.
