(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (7-1-1, 4-1-1 in ACCAC) picked up its fifth shutout victory of the season on Saturday against Chandler-Gilbert Community College (2-8, 0-6).
The No. 5 ranked Aztecs set the tone with five first half goals and went on to beat the Coyotes 8-0.
Sophomore Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS) scored a season-high four goals. He netted the first two goals of the game in the 6th and 22nd minutes. He made it 5-0 completing the hat trick with under a minute left in the first half. He found the back of the net again in the 57thminute. He now leads the Aztecs with 10 goals so far this season.
Sophomore Jacob Garcia (Walden Grove HS) finished the game with two goals and two assists. He scored back-to-back goals in the 29th and 37th minutes. He assisted Bianchi’s goal at the end of the half and sophomore Ernesto Osornio’s (Ironwood HS) goal in the 58thminute, which made it 7-0.
Osornio and sophomore Daniel Rendon (Tucson Magnet HS) each contributed with two assists. Sophomore Cristian Gutierrez (Cholla HS) scored the final goal of the game off a penalty kick in the 65th minute.
Freshman Cristian Sattin was at the net in the first half finishing with two saves. Sophomore Aaron Quezada played the second half and had one save.
The Aztecs will play at Scottsdale Community College on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
