(Phoenix, AZ) The Pima Community College volleyball team (5-13, 2-6 in ACCAC) hit the road for an ACCAC conference match at South Mountain Community College (6-14, 3-6) on Wednesday in Phoenix.
The Aztecs fell to the Cougars in straight sets 30-28, 25-17, 25-23. This was the third meeting between the two teams this season as the Aztecs had won the previous two contests.
Sophomore Isabella Jacome finished the match with 25 assists, five digs and two aces. Jacome set up sophomores Deanna Almaguer or Jessica Bright-Schade (Safford) for 14 of her 25 assists.
Almaguer finished the match with eight kills and two blocks. Bright-Schade posted six kills and nine digs.
The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Friday when they host No. 4 ranked Scottsdale Community College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
