(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s track & field athlete Jaida Olson (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) will compete at the NCAA Division I level starting this fall.
Olson, a sophomore pole vaulter, committed to Grand Canyon University. The Antelopes compete in the Western Athletic Conference.
Olson competed in one season for the Aztecs and put together quite a season. She took home the NJCAA Division I National Championship in the Women’s Pole Vault with a mark of 3.46 meters (11-feet, 4.25-inches). She also claimed the NJCAA Region I crown in the Pole Vault with a vault of 3.36 meters (11-feet, 0.25-inches).
Olson broke the Pima school record in two straight Outdoor meets. Her best vault to secure the final record was set at the ACCAC Championships with a vault of 3.80 meters (12-feet, 5.50-inches).
She earned NJCAA All-American, All-Region and All-ACCAC conference honors for the season.
Olson was also named Second Team NJCAA All-Academic for the 2021-22 season (3.80-3.99 GPA).
