(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s golfers Maria Harrouch and Angelica Martinez (Tucson Magnet HS) closed out their second rounds of play on Tuesday at the NJCAA Division I National Championships.
Harrouch struggled in her second round as she shot an 82 on the day and sits tied for 11th place with a two-day total of 158 (76-82).
Martinez moved up in the individual standings as she sits tied for 55th after she posted an 8-stroke improvement from her first round score. She shot an 84 in Tuesday’s round and has a 176 (92-84).
“They’re getting more and more comfortable with the golf course every day,” Pima women’s golf assistant coach Donn Hess said. “We’re getting ready for our best rounds coming in the next few days.”
The Aztecs will play in the third round on Wednesday at the Mayfair Country Club in Sanford, FL. Harrouch tees off at 8:32 a.m. (ET) and Martinez starts her round at 8:50 a.m. (ET)
