(Mesa, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s track & field team closed out the regular season on Friday at the Mesa Invitational.
The Aztecs set six new personal-records in their respected events.
Sophomore Victoria Malaki (Dobson HS) improved on her NJCAA Outdoor national qualifying mark in the Discus Throw as she took second place with a personal-best mark of 42.86 meters (140-feet, 7-inches). Her previous national qualifier was set at 42.36 meters (139-0).
Below are five personal-records that were also set:
Sophomore Fatmata Conteh (Glendale HS) – First place in the 100-meter hurdles 15.34.
Sophomore Marissa Lopez (Sahuarita HS) – First place in the 800 meters 2:22.57.
Sophomore Dejanae Wilmore (Tucson Magnet HS), Sophomore Abigail Walls (Tucson Magnet HS), Sophomore Maddie Warren, Sophomore Fatmata Conteh (Glendale HS) – First place in the 4×100-meter relay 51.26.
Freshman Candice Pocase (Santa Rita HS) – Second place in the Pole Vault 3.01 meters (9-feet, 10.50-inches).
Sophomore Nyah Torres (Millenium HS) – Fourth place in 400 meters 1 minute, 02.50 seconds.
The Aztecs will compete in the NJCAA Region I Multi-Event Championships on Monday and Tuesday at Mesa Community College.
