(Phoenix, AZ) GCU graduate guard Amara Graham was named to the All-WAC first team after averaging 13.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in conference play this season.
Graham was the only Lope to start all 29 games this season, averaging a team high 31.1 minutes per game for a 21-8 team that finished second in the conference. Graham’s first-team honors follows an All-WAC second-team selection last season with UT Rio Grande Valley.
“We are very proud of AG and her recognition as one of the best in the conference,” GCU head coach Molly Miller said. “She was able to make an impact right away for our team and help leave her mark on hte program as we made history this year.”
The Chicago native had 12 games in which she hit at least three 3-pointers, eight of which came against conference opponents. She made 38.8% of her 3s this season to help reach a career total of 1,376 points, ranking 142nd among active Division I players.
The 2021 WAC scoring champion at UT Rio Grande Valley transferred to GCU to finish out her collegiate career and led the Lopes to the highest WAC seeding in program history and the first 21-win season in GCU’s Division I era.
