(Phoenix, AZ) The Arizona Rattlers continue to solidify their passing game for the 2022 season by adding two veteran wide receivers to their roster, re-signing Troy Pelletier, and signing free agent Raheem Harvey.
WR Troy Pelletier (6’3”, 215, Lehigh University) returns to the Rattlers for his second season in the IFL. During Pelletier’s rookie season last year, he played in 13 games and caught 20 passes for 182 yards and seven touchdowns. Pelletier was especially productive in the Rattlers’ in-state rivalry games vs. Tucson, as he tied his career-high for receptions (three) in all three contests vs. the Sugar Skulls, including a three-touchdown performance during Arizona’s road victory on July 3rd.
Pelletier spent all four years of his college career playing at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and he became the Mountain Hawks’ all-time leader in receiving with 4,216 yards. A native of Deerfield, New Hampshire, Pelletier set Patriot League records for career receptions (328), career touchdowns (38), and single-game receptions (16). He was named an All-Patriot League performer all four years at Lehigh, with first-team honors his sophomore and senior seasons. After graduation, Pelletier spent time in training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals, as well as with the AAF’s Atlanta Legends.
WR Raheem Harvey (6’2, 205, Lewis-Clark Valley) joins the Rattlers for his first season in Arizona and fourth in the IFL. Harvey earned the 2021 IFL Most Improved Player award for his performance with the Bismarck Bucks. Helping the Bucks to a 7-8 record and playoff appearance, Harvey led the team in receiving with 45 receptions for 577 yards and 14 touchdowns (5th in the IFL). Harvey helped Bismarck field the third-best passing attack in the IFL, despite the team playing five different quarterbacks in 2021.
Before joining Bismarck, Harvey spent two years with the Iowa Barnstormers, winning a United Bowl championship during his rookie season of 2018. The Barnstormers acquired Harvey during the mid-season of their championship run after he made his IFL debut earlier that year with the Cedar Rapids Titans. A native of Largo, Florida, Harvey played his senior season of college football with Lewis-Clark Valley College in Lewiston, Idaho, after spending the previous two years playing at Fort Scott Community College in Kansas.
The Rattlers will play eight regular-season home games at Footprint Center beginning in March, with the 16-game regular season running through July. The IFL playoffs will begin in late July. The 2022 IFL schedule was released last week.
