PHOENIX — A busy free agency signing period continues for the Arizona Rattlers as they have added two more players for the upcoming 2022 season, offensive lineman Ty McCulley and defensive lineman Leonard Hazewood IV.
OL Ty McCulley (6’6”, 320, Colorado State-Pueblo) joins the Rattlers for his second season in the IFL and first with the Rattlers. McCulley made his IFL in 2020 with the San Diego Strike Force before the season was canceled. McCulley has experience at the NFL level, participating in a rookie mini-camp with the Washington Football Team in 2018.
Starting all four years at Colorado State-Pueblo, McCulley earned All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors during his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, he helped the ThunderWolves post a 9-3 record, earning a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
A native of Pueblo, Colorado, McCulley experienced a decorated career at Pueblo Central High School, where he earned all-state, all-conference, and all-city honors for the Wildcats.
DL Leonard Hazewood IV (6’5, 260, Sacramento State University) joins the Rattlers for his rookie season in the IFL. Hazewood played the 2018 season as a graduate transfer for Sacramento State and appeared in 10 games at defensive end/outside linebacker, starting four, and recorded 22 total tackles, 13 solos, 2.5 tackles-for-loss, and 1.5 sacks. Spending the 2017 season with Idaho, Hazewood compiled 45 total tackles, with 11 tackles-for-loss and 5.5 sacks for the Vandals.
A native of Sacramento, California, Hazewood attended Sierra Junior College in Rocklin (CA) for two years, earning an All-NorCal Conference honorable mention as a sophomore. A 2013 graduate of Antelope High School, Hazewood was named to the All-Capital Athletic League First Team as a senior.
The Rattlers will play eight regular-season home games at Footprint Center beginning in March, with the 16-game regular season running through July. The IFL playoffs will begin in late July. The 2022 IFL schedule was released last week.
Season tickets for the 2022 season are currently on sale to the general public with reduced prices from the 2021 season in several sections of the arena.
