(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (8-2, 4-1 in ACCAC) put together a dominant performance on Saturday at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (4-5, 2-3).
The No. 8 ranked Aztecs took a double digit advantage in the second quarter and went on to beat the Coyotes 92-65. The Aztecs outscored the Coyotes 27-17 in the second quarter and 25-13 in the third to take control.
The Aztecs had five players score in double figures led by freshman Matehya Aberle (Holbrook HS), who scored 17 points on 7 for 10 shooting. She also had six rebounds.
Freshman Luisayde Chavez (Rio Rico HS) finished the game with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists while freshman Torrance Begay (Page HS) added 14 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Freshman Angel Addleman (Palo Verde HS) went 5 for 8 from the floor and finished with 13 points to go along with six rebounds and eight assists. Freshman Jaden Leslie (Dobson HS) contributed with 10 points.
The Aztecs crashed the board finishing with 52 rebounds. Sophomore Nikya Orange (Tanque Verde HS) had eight points and 13 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Keara Felix closed it out with four points and 10 rebounds.
The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Monday when they host Arizona Christian University JV in a non-conference game. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
