The Rattlers Offensive line takes shape, re-signing Lamar Mady and adding Josh Fields
(Phoenix, AZ) The Arizona Rattlers have signed two more players to their 2022 roster, resigning veteran Offensive Lineman Lamar Mady, and rookie Offensive Lineman Josh Fields.
Lamar Mady (6-foot-2, 315, Offensive LIneman, Youngstown State) returns to the Rattlers for his sixth straight season with the team. In the 2020 season, Mady earned second-team All-IFL Honors, helping lead the offensive line of the Rattlers, which finished as the best rushing team in the IFL with 1,649 yards and 63 touchdowns. The Arizona offensive line protected the quarterback as the team finished with the second-fewest number of sacks on the season.
Mady spent time with the Oakland Raiders, where he played in seven games during the 2013 season and spent the 2013-2015 seasons on the Raiders practice squad. The Topeka, Kansas native attended Youngstown State where he played in 22 games during which he did not allow a sack or pressure. Mady transferred from Butler County Community College where he was named first-team All-Jayhawk Conference and first-team All-Region VI.
The Topeka, Kansas native attended Topeka High School where he played both center and defensive tackle. Mady earned first-team All-Centennial League selection during his senior season, and as a junior was a second-team All-Centennial League pick as a center.
Josh Fields (6’6 315 Offensive Lineman, Elizabeth State University) joins the Rattlers for his IFL rookie season. Fields is from Raleigh, NC, and played collegiately at Elizabeth State University, where he lettered 4 years and was named a D2 All-American. Fields will deliver additional size and energy to the Rattler’s OL, which already has a reputation for being one of the best at protecting the quarterback.
The Rattlers will play eight regular-season home games at Footprint Center beginning in March, with the 16-game regular season running through July. The IFL playoffs will begin in late July.
