(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (2-1) earned a non-conference road win on Tuesday at Arizona Christian University JV.
The No. 12 ranked Aztecs opened up a double digit lead in the first quarter and beat ACU JV 89-52. The Aztecs took a 30-14 lead after the opening quarter and led 51-29 at halftime.
The Aztecs finished the game with 55 rebounds, 23 assists and 14 steals.
Sophomore Nikya Orange (Tanque Verde HS) went 7 for 10 from the field and posted a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. She also had three steals.
Sophomore Luisayde Chavez (Rio Rico HS) finished the game with 12 points, eight assists, five rebounds and three steals.
Freshman Jaden Leslie (Dobson HS) contributed with 12 points while sophomore Angel Addleman (Palo Verde HS) went 4 for 6 from the field with 10 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals.
The Aztecs will play their first game at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Thursday against Utah State University-Eastern. Tipoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
