(Chandler, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (10-0, 4-0 in ACCAC) rallied after trailing in the first half with three unanswered goals on Saturday in its win at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (0-8, 0-6).
The No. 1 ranked Aztecs earned their 10th straight win after beating the Coyotes 3-1 to remain unblemished on the season.
Down 1-0, the Aztecs earned a penalty kick opportunity and sophomore Manuel Quiroz (Sunnyside HS) converted to tie the game at 1-1 in the 26th minute.
The score remained tied into the second half until sophomore Francisco Manzo (Salpointe Catholic HS) scored his goal in the 69th minute to give Pima their first lead of the game at 2-1.
Manzo helped the Aztecs add insurance as he assisted in sophomore Lorenzo Nicolia’s (Sunrise Mountain HS) goal in the 79th minute.
The Coyotes scored the first goal of the game when Alfredo Oliver scored in the 20thminute.
The Aztecs outshot the Coyotes 13-1 in on-goal attempts. Sophomore Juan Suarez (Desert View HS) finished with no saves.
The Aztecs face a tough test on Thursday when they play at Phoenix College in a make-up game from Sept. 25. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
